WTL recently filed suit against Amazon.com Inc. for using invalid codes to trick Internet Explorer into allowing it to place cookies on users’ computers. The complaint alleges that Amazon.com violates protocols established by Platform for Privacy Preferences (P3P) by intentionally submitting invalid CP codes to bypass Internet Explorer’s privacy settings. 05/9/2012Dallas Early Morning Car Wreck Results In One FatalityA Dallas car accident early this morning left one driver dead and the other uninjured. The car wreck happened around 7:30 a.m. this morning. Investigating officers believe the deceased driver was traveling south on Midway just south of Frankford Rd. in her SUV when another driver pulled out of an apartment complex striking the victim’s car in the rear quarter panel. The SUV then spun into the curb, causing the SUV to flip onto its roof. The driver was trapped in her car for a period of time, and she died before she could be taken to the hospital. It is unclear if alcohol played a role in the accident or if it was just a matter of inattention or careless driving.
05/7/2012Wrong Way Driver Near Killeen Causes Fatal Car CrashKilleen police officers are currently investigating a car accident that resulted in the death of two young people. Officers believe that the car wreck happened at 9:16 on Saturday night. Officers were alerted to a car driving the wrong way down the southbound lanes of Highway 195 immediately prior to the car wreck. Upon arriving at the accident scene, officers found the drivers of both vehicles deceased. The initial results of the investigation indicate that a young man driving a 2005 Acura was the one driving the wrong way. The other driver has been identified as Rachelle Nicole Pittman. At this time it is not known if alcohol played a role in this fatal car accident.
05/4/2012Fort Worth Drunk Driver Sentenced To Twenty YearsLouis Nieves made a horrible and fatal decision last year, and now it will cost him 20 years in prison. He was sentenced by a Fort Worth jury yesterday for his intoxication manslaughter conviction resulting from a mach 2011 truck accident that took the life of Alejandro Raya. Mr. Nieves admitted to drinking 10 beers before getting behind the wheel of his truck. He then entered Interstate 30 heading the wrong way and collided with a tanker truck driven by Mr. Raya. Mr. Nieves’ decision to drink and drive took one life and left three children without a father.
