car accident occurred this Saturday at 5:30 p.m. when a Dodge Flatbed truck driven by Octavio Palacios crossed the center line at this curve and struck a Ford Explorer driven by Edy Pereira, who died at the scene of the accident. The passenger in the Ford Explorer, Maria Castilleja, and Mr. Palacios are in critical condition. The car wreck was so severe that he cab of the truck was ripped from the frame and the engine and transmission were in a ditch on the other side of the road. A high school student form
Azle, Texas (a small town northwest of Ft. Worth) was killed in a
car accident on Thursday afternoon after the car he was a passenger in collided with a pickup
truck. Witnesses at the scene of the car accident informed investigating officers that the car the student was riding in entered the center lane of traffic, then made a left hand turn in front of the oncoming truck. It appears at this time that the driver failed to see the oncoming vehicle. It was also raining at the time of the accident, which may have affected visibility and the ability of the oncoming truck to stop in time to prevent the car accident. Two other individuals were injured in the car accident, but heir conditions and names are unknown at this time.

Dangerous Road Design Contributes To Dallas Car Accidents
September 16. 2011 10:06 by
Driver negligence is not always the sole cause of a
car accident. Sometimes the design or maintenance of roadways can play a role. Residents of East Dallas are complaining that the design of the roadway where
Lemmon Ave merges with Haskell Ave is causing a large number of car accidents in their neighborhood. One townhome owner reported two cars colliding with his home this summer alone. Residents of the neighborhood also have pictures of an SUV turned on its side and another SUV that ran over a fire hydrant. Residents claim over 100
car accidents in their Dallas neighborhood over the last decade. They believe all these accidents are due to the way Lemmon Ave curves into and merges with Haskell Ave, bringing multiple lanes of traffic together without any of the merging traffic having a stop sign. The City of
Dallas is looking at solutions, such as repainting traffic lanes and better signs, but residents believe the only solution is to stop the traffic from Lemmon Ave before the merge, which Dallas is reluctant to do because of potential congestion problems that would create. What this story highlights is that the causes of accidents may be more complex then they appear on the surface, and without an experienced car accident attorney, parties liable for your injuries may not be held accountable. If you have questions about a car accident, call the

Arlington Joins San Antonio and Austin By Banning Texting While Driving
September 14. 2011 10:52 by
By a vote of 5-4, the Arlington, Texas city council made texting while driving within the city limits a crime. Despite lots of controversy over the proposal, drivers caught texting will now face a Class C Misdemeanor and a $200 fine. While the ordinance refers to texting generally, it also bans facebooking, tweeting, and emailing. In fact, the only activity permitted on the phone is talking. Drivers in Arlington will be provided warnings for the near future if caught texting in an effort to educate the public about the new ordinance.
I have blogged on the
dangers of texting and driving many times in the past, and the dangers cannot be overstated. Just look at this
video again if you need a reminder. One valid critique opponents of the no texting ordinance have put forward is how are cops supposed to differentiate scrolling for a phone number and texting? This critique, however, shows that the texting ban does not go far enough. Drivers cannot look at their phone and pay proper attention to the roadway at the same time. From a public safety perspective, whether you are texting or scrolling through a rolodex on your phone, the risks to the public are the same in terms of causing a severe
car wreck.
The dangers of texting and driving are real. If you have been injured in a car wreck caused by a texting driver, call the
