A Dallas area car accident landed two female passengers in the hospital and the driver of the car in jail. The car accident happened shortly after 2:00 a.m. in North Richland Hills when the driver of a speeding car lost control, which resulted in the car going airborne across the service road and landing in a hotel parking lot. The two female passengers were ejected from the car and taken to a local hospital with life threatening injuries. It is believed that the driver of the car, Frederick Douglas, was intoxicated at the time of the accident, and as such, he was arrested and charged with two counts of intoxication assault with a vehicle. Police investigation of the car accident shut down traffic in the area until 7 a.m.

What is starting to seem like a daily occurrence in the DFW Metroplex, another wrong way driver suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol caused a severe car accident. This time the accident happened on the Central Expressway in Dallas shortly after 2 a.m. A Lincoln traveling north in the southbound lanes of traffic struck a Honda head on. The driver of the Civic had to be cut from her vehicle. Both drivers were taken to Baylor Medical Center in serious condition. Police suspect that the driver of the Lincoln was intoxicated, and charges are expected.

An 18 year old female is being held in Tarrant County jail charged with intoxication manslaughter following a late night car accident.  Early reports indicate that Cristan Jerri Melancon was driving a Jeep Wrangler in Keller, Texas around 12:30 a.m. last night when she pulled out and struck a motorcycle driven by Jason Wakeford.  Mr. Wakeford was pronounced dead at John Peter Smith Hospital about an hour later.  Investigating officers believe Ms. Melancon was intoxicated at the time of the car accident.  For more on this story, click here.

An unnamed woman in Richardson, Texas (a suburb just north of Dallas, Texas) was charged with intoxication assault after the car she was driving wrecked into the rear of a police officer’s vehicle. The car wreck occurred at approximately 12:30 this morning.  The police car was sitting on the shoulder of Central Expressway in assisting a stranded driver when the car was rear ended by the suspected drunk driver.
