Texas Trucking Accident Kills Three People
July 31. 2012 12:58 by
A
wrong way driver on Interstate 35 set off a deadly chain reaction early Monday morning. The events leading up to the deadly
trucking accident began at around 3 a.m. Monday morning when a small sedan was spotted driving south in the Northbound lanes of I-35 in Schertz, Texas near San Antonio. The wrong way driver caused an initial
car accident that resulted in only minor injuries. A tanker truck driver, however, failed to see the initial crash and drove through the car accident scene striking and killing two good samaritans that stopped to render aid in response to the first car accident. The other victim was the wrong way driver that caused the initial car accident. Five other individuals were taken to area hospitals for minor injuries. There is no word at this time if alcohol played a role in this horrific accident.
Horrific accidents such as this one come with complicated legal questions, such as who is legally responsible for the deaths and injuries to these innocent victims? Does all responsibility fall on the wrong way driver? Is the truck driver responsible for not keeping a proper lookout? These questions require experienced
personal injury attorneys with the tools to investigate serious accidents such as this one. The Austin and Dallas personal injury attorneys at Wilson Trosclair & Lovins have that experience. Call us today at 214-484-1930 if you were injured due to the negligence of another person

Amanda Omo-Iyamu of Balch Springs, Texas, and Shun Jones, of Carrollton, Texas were killed in Colorado when they were struck by a large truck while changing a tire on the side of a Colorado highway. Exactly who was driving the truck was a source of confusion. It is now being reported that a 16 year old teen named Tristan Martin, from Sulpher Springs, Louisiana, was driving the truck at the time of the
trucking accident. At the scene of the trucking accident, however, Tristan’s father, Michael, took the blame for the accident while Tristan fled with some of his friends that were following them from a rodeo in Oklahoma on their way to Wyoming. Tristan and Michael were both arrested and face charges pertaining to the truck wreck and their actions following the accident. Investigators are now trying to determine if a 16 year old driving the truck violated Federal trucking regulations. car accident when an
18 wheeler jackknifed and crashed into the rear of the police car. The police officers were taken to Parkland Hospital with unknown injuries. Regina Raquel Duane was killed in an early morning Dallas
trucking accident when the pickup truck she was a passenger in collided with an
18-wheeler. The trucking accident happened at approximately 2:15 a.m. this morning. Investigating officers believe the driver of the pickup truck-which was pulling a trailer at the time- lost control while driving in the heavy rain of I-35E in Oak Cliff and jackknifed. An 18-wheeler then crashed in the pickup truck, killing Regina Raquel Duane and seriously injuring the two other occupants of the truck. The two other occupants have not been identified, but it was recently confirmed that they were a 26 year old teacher and a 15 year old student from McKinney, Texas. It is believed that prior to the
trucking accident, Ms. Duane and her two companions were in Midlothian showing sheep at an FFA event. The unidentified teacher remains in critical condition, and the student is in stable condition. The 18-wheeler driver escaped the trucking accident with only minor injuries.

18-Wheeler Causes Pile Up Near Waco
October 27. 2011 10:43 by
A truck driver’s attempt to reverse his
18-wheeler into oncoming traffic on Interstate 35 near the
Forrest St. exit in Waco, Texas resulted in a ten car pileup. Two people were taken to the hospital to treat their injuries, but none of the injuries are believed to be serious. Investigating officers are reporting that the 18-wheeler was carrying an oversized load at the time, and the truck driver realized he would not fit under the overpass. The truck driver stopped the 18-wheeler in the middle of traffic and began to reverse, which caused multiple
car accidents behind him. It appears that the root of the problem is the trucking company’s failure to properly use TxDOT’s automated system known as TXPROS, which charts out the proper routes for commercial trucks based on the size, weight chart out the proper route for the truck. Some observers are concerned about the cause of the
trucking accident because truck drivers now input the information into TXPROS rather than TxDOT employees, and they fear that more of these types of accidents are likely to happen more frequently without proper training.
Fortunately in this case, this truck driver’s errors did not result in the loss of life or permanent injuries. Many trucking accidents do have tragic consequences, however. What the above accident does highlight, however, is the need for an experienced trucking accident attorney who knows the rules and regulations that control the trucking industry. Otherwise, valuable evidence of negligence can be overlooked. Call the
